"The King" still reigns.
New York Rangers superstar goaltender Henrik Lundqvist made one of the saves of the season Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
After a strange bounce off the boards at Madison Square Garden, Lundqvist dove back towards his goal and used his stick to rob Ryan Johansen of what looked to be a sure goal.
The Blue Jackets put it perfectly: "how?"
Lundqvist made 37 saves Saturday, the Rangers improving to 3-0 on the season with a 5-2 victory over Columbus, their third win in four nights.
The goaltender's allowed only six goals in those three games, and said he wanted to start strong in 2015-16. Lundqvist said head coach Alain Vigneault challenged him to have a solid October in their exit meeting after last season, and that he thought about it all summer.
"That was my challenge going into this year, to try to play at a higher level, reach my level as soon as I could," Lundqvist said.
