Robin Lehner was forced from his debut start with the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night, and may not be back in the crease any time soon.

Lehner left the arena in a walking boot on his right foot after suffering what the Sabres classified as a lower-body injury in the team's season-opening loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Lehner appeared to injure himself as he traveled back into his own crease and dropped into a butterfly. He was in considerable pain and needed to be assisted off the ice.

He made 11 saves on 12 shots before being relieved by Chad Johnson.
