The St. Louis Blues are giving Scott Gomez a training camp tryout.
The former New Jersey Devils forward has accepted the Blues' invite to attend camp on a professional tryout contract, Andy Strickland of KTRS reports.
The Blues announced Thursday that they've extended invitations to Gomez and four others for training camp, which begins next month.
Gomez notched 34 points in 58 games with the Devils last season. The 35-year-old is a former teammate of Blues assistant general manager Martin Brodeur.
Devils general manager Ray Shero said earlier this week that his club would not offer new contracts to Gomez or forward Steve Bernier.
