After breaking the bank with the signing of Ryan O'Reilly, the Buffalo Sabres made a much cheaper signing Friday.
The Sabres inked defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo to a one-year contract.
He will be paid $900,000, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The Sabres will be Colaiacovo's fourth NHL team since 2012-13. The 32-year-old played 33 games with the Philadelphia Flyers last season, tallying just two goals and eight points.
