Robbie Russo's great collegiate season may earn him a sweet NHL deal, but it doesn't look like that deal will be with the New York Islanders.
The Islanders won't sign the standout defenseman after his fantastic season at Notre Dame, reports Arthur Staple of Newsday.
Russo, 22, was a fourth-round selection of the Islanders in the 2011 draft and recorded 15 goals and 26 assists in 40 games for the Irish.
If the second-team All-American goes unsigned, he'll become a free agent.
