The Ottawa Senators won't see any more action from defenseman Chris Phillips this season.
Head coach Dave Cameron announced Monday at a press conference that Phillips will have back surgery on Tuesday and is done for the season.
The 37-year-old should be ready to return to training camp in September reports TSN's Ian Mendes.
The veteran was the first overall pick in 1996 and has spent his entire career with the Senators.
