Dan Girardi must be made of steel.
The New York Rangers defenseman took a puck to the face late in Thursday's contest against the Pittsburgh Penguins, leaving the game holding his mouth.
But it was business as usual for the 30-year-old on Friday as he attended the team's practice and didn't even need the aid of extra protection, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.
Sportsnet's Christine Simpson has more:
There haven't been any official reports on his status for Game 2 of the Rangers' first-round playoff series on Saturday, although this is a good sign that he'll play.
Girardi had 20 points in 82 regular-season games for New York.
