Matt Hendricks became the second member of the Edmonton Oilers to suffer an injury in Wednesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche.

Hendricks sustained a back injury and appeared to do so on a hit by Avalanche winger Jordan Caron. Hendricks did not return.

The veteran had 16 points in 66 games entering Wednesday's action.

After the game, head coach Todd Nelson said Hendricks has a sore back, but the bench boss refused to reveal more about the extent of the injury.
