The Columbus Blue Jackets recalled forward William Karlsson from the Springfield Falcons on Monday.
General manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced the move ahead of the team's game Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks.
Karlsson has yet to suit up for the Blue Jackets. He was acquired at the deadline from Anaheim along with forward Rene Bourque and a 2015 second-round pick in exchange for defenseman James Wisniewski and a 2015 third-rounder.
The 22-year-old had two goals and three points in 18 games with the Ducks and has been held pointless in eight games with the Falcons.
