VIDEO: Wild's Pominville loses stick, recovers to score dandy goal

The Minnesota Wild didn't have to deal with Alex Ovechkin against the Washington Capitals on Thursday.
The star forward is usually the one making the highlight-reel plays - after being fed by Nicklas Backstrom - but Jason Pominville wanted some of that ice cred for the Wild, and he didn't need a set-up man either.
Check out the effort from Pominville below, as he loses his stick, recovers and then hacks one by Capitals netminder Braden Holtby.
The goal tied the contest at one.
Pominville would later add the game-winner as Minnesota walked away victorious 2-1, moving them one game and two points closer to securing a playoff spot.
