The Philadelphia Flyers are the Pearl Jam of the NHL, because after a third-period outburst Thursday against St. Louis, they're very much still alive.

Down 1-0 to the Blues nearing the 10-minute mark of the final frame, Michael Del Zotto and Wayne Simmonds scored less than two minutes apart to give their team a lead that would not be relinquished.

Del Zotto's goal, his ninth of the season, came on an absolute rocket from near the blue line.

Just 1:50 later, Simmonds deftly redirected a Mark Streit pass behind Brian Elliott for his 26th.

With the win - over one of the league's top teams - the Flyers did their part to stay afloat in the increasingly competitive race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
