Flames' Tyler Wotherspoon recalled from AHL Adirondack

Calgary Flames defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon was recalled from the American Hockey League's Adirondack Flames on Tuesday.

Analysis:

A second-round pick of the Flames in 2011, Wotherspoon has produced two goals and 13 assists over 38 games at Adirondack this season. With Ladislav Smid heading to injured reserve in a corresponding move, Wotherspoon should have a real opportunity at competing with Raphael Diaz and Deryk Engelland for a regular role on the team's third pairing.
