Buffalo Sabres defenseman Andre Benoit isn't known for his goal-scoring prowess, but he notched his first of the season in an unexpected manner against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.

With the Red Wings on the power play, Benoit blocked a shot by blue-liner Jakub Kindl and joined teammate Brian Flynn on a 2-on-0 rush down the ice before beating Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek with a hard shot.

It was Benoit's first shorthanded goal, and the 11th goal of his NHL career.

The Red Wings scored four times in the third period, rallying from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Sabres 6-3, and Benoit was in no mood to savor his highlight-reel accomplishment after the game.

You'll always have the video, Andre.
