On Thursday night, the Ottawa Senators visited the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY. to face the Buffalo Sabres.
The game was actually due to be played over a month ago, but was rescheduled when a massive winter storm, an act of god, really, dumped a maximum snowfall accretion of 88 inches on Buffalo.
Perhaps the Sabres forgot to tell the fans that the game was rescheduled because, well, not very many people showed up:
It's never good to see an NHL game being played in a nearly empty arena, but at least this isn't a persistent problem for the Sabres.
Though the club is rebuilding and unrelentingly terrible, they're still playing to a crowd that's averaged over 18,000 per home date, according to ESPN's NHL attendance report.
