Rangers to name captain at the end of training camp

Alain Vigneault is not quite ready to hand the New York Rangers' captaincy to Ryan McDonagh, but the organization will name its next captain by the end of training camp.
The Rangers navigated the Eastern Conference postseason bracket to the Stanley Cup final last season without a "C" stitched onto anyone's shoulder after Ryan Callahan was dealt to Tampa Bay for Martin St. Louis mid-season.
McDonagh, the team's workhorse from the back end, skated in 77 games last season and logged just under 25 minutes per night.
