Report: Red Wings interested in re-signing Daniel Cleary

Daniel Cleary's days wearing the winged-wheel on his chest may not be numbered just yet.

According to MLive's Ansar Khan, the Detroit Red Wings are in contract talks with the veteran forward, and may attempt to sign him to a two-way deal in order to give him a chance to play his way onto the team.

"He's coming off a real tough season," Holland said. "I know he's working really hard to try to get some leg strength to give himself the best opportunity he can for a bounce back year."

The 35-year-old Cleary, who signed a one-year, $1.75 million contract prior to training camp last season, struggled mightily in 2013-14, collecting four goals and eight points in 52 games.
