Report: Canucks G Eddie Lack to start third straight game at Heritage Classic on Sunday

Has Vancouver Canucks goaltender and Team Canada's gold medal winning backup Roberto Luongo lost his starting job for the second straight season?

That might be a bit much, but certainly the Vancouver Canucks are content to roll with Eddie Lack for the moment. Lack will make his third consecutive start since the Olympic break on Sunday in a marquee "outdoor" game against the Ottawa Senators at B.C. Place:

Since the start of the 2014 calender year Roberto Luongo has played pretty well, stopping a respectable .924% of all shots faced at even-strength. Lack, however, has been even better and has managed to stop .935% of all even-strength shots faced in his 11 starts in 2014.

Luongo seemed to be taking the news hard. "I don't want to go through this whole thing again," Luongo said upon being told of the news. "I've always wanted to play in an outdoor game."

Goalie controversies are as predictable in Vancouver as rain is in November, it would seem.
