Trade sending Gagner to LA still has significant kinks to roll out
The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are rumored to be talking about a deal that would send forward Sam Gagner to L.A. Although reports seem to be heating up, Bob McKenzie reported on TSN Radio 1050 there are still a few hurdles to get over before completing a deal.
"It's possible, there are some hurdles here and some of financial. They're after a player who has $4.8 million [cap hit] on his next three years, for this to happen Edmonton has to be prepared to take back a fairly significant chunk of salary. Absolutely LA and Edmonton have been talking about Gagner and Kyle Clifford [going to Edmonton]."
It is unlikely the deal goes down before the NHL's roster freeze at 3PM on Friday due to the challenges with salary.
