Maple Leafs re-sign Dewar to 1-year, $1.18M pact

The Toronto Maple Leafs and restricted free-agent forward Connor Dewar avoided arbitration with a one-year, $1.18-million contract Tuesday, the team announced.

Dewar recorded 11 goals and eight assists in 74 games split between the Maple Leafs and Minnesota Wild last season. He also added 123 hits.

The 25-year-old played plenty of center in Minnesota but spent most of his time in Toronto on the wing. He projects to play on the fourth line next season and figures to be a key part of the Maple Leafs' penalty kill.

The Maple Leafs acquired Dewar from the Wild at the 2024 trade deadline in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick and Dmitry Ovchinnikov.

The Wild selected Dewar in the third round in 2018.
