The Ottawa Senators signed newly acquired goaltender Matt Murray to a four-year contract extension that carries an average annual value of $6.25 million, the team announced Friday.

The deal includes a 10-team no-trade clause, McKenzie adds.

Murray joined the Senators via trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday. His new deal makes him the NHL's seventh-highest paid goalie.

Ottawa still has a projected $31.8 million in cap space following Murray's new contract, according to CapFriendly.

Murray, 26, is coming off his worst statistical season, posting a .899 save percentage across 38 games in 2019-20. For his career, he owns a .914 save percentage and 2.67 goals-against average along with two Stanley Cup rings.
