Newly acquired Chicago Blackhawks center Tommy Wingels suffered a fractured foot during his offseason training and will miss six-to-eight weeks, the club announced Friday.
Across 73 regular-season games last season split between the San Jose Sharks and the Ottawa Senators, Wingels tallied seven goals and five assists while logging nearly 11 minutes in ice time per game.
Dr. Terry: "We anticipate a full recovery in six to eight weeks and in time for training camp. We do not anticipate any long-term issues.”

Chicago signed Wingels to a one-year deal on July 1.
