Oilers' Laurent Brossoit: Stands tall in rare appearance
Brossoit made his third start of the season Saturday, turning away 24 of 25 shots in a win over the Avalanche.
Analysis:
Workhorse Cam Talbot was greatly needing a rest, so it was good for Edmonton that Brossoit was able to come in and turn in a strong performance. The 24-year-old likely won't see much more action down the final stretch, but if the Oilers happen to secure a playoff spot, they may want to give Talbot some more rest before the postseason. Given the team's explosive offense and Brossoit's .934 save percentage, the netminder is worth a spot start when he gets the nod.
