Islanders' Jaroslav Halak: Will start Sunday

Halak will start in the Islanders' home opener Sunday versus the Ducks, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Halak took the loss Thursday, 5-3, in the Islanders season opener against the Rangers. Halak may not have a long leash on the starting job as there was some thought coming into training camp that Thomas Greiss could win the job but a strong World Cup performance has given him the edge for now.
