The Philadelphia Eagles have selected running back Wendell Smallwood out of West Virginia in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
With Ryan Mathews, Darren Sproles, and Kenjon Barner already at the position, adding Smallwood provides injury insurance for the Eagles. An adept pass-catcher, the Mountaineers product should provide a solid option on third down for new coach Doug Pederson's offense.
