Broncos' Malik Jackson discusses prospective contract extension
Denver Broncos defensive end Malik Jackson elevated his status after a standout postseason, and is enjoying the aftermath of capturing Super Bowl 50.
Jackson, who recovered a fumble for a touchdown during Super Bowl 50, may end up as one of the most highly sought-after free agents this summer.
Ahead of the biggest summer of his life, Jackson spoke about the on-going negotiation process with the Broncos.
"They've been more or less talking about language and how we want the contract set up than numbers," Jackson said via NFL.com's Brooke Cersosimo. "I know that's how it went in the beginning, but right now, I think (Broncos general manager John) Elway is enjoying the celebration. I guess we'll get back to it soon."
Although Jackson iterated throughout the winter that he wants to remain with the Broncos, getting a massive contract is his main priority.
"I'm thinking more just getting paid," he said. "One hundred million dollars is a lot of money and J.J. (Watt) was Mr. Defense a few times and a Pro Bowler. (Ndamukong) Suh was doing great things when he was in Detroit, so I'm not even saying $100 million. I'm not even saying $90 million, but somewhere in that ball park would be cool."
