The Arizona Cardinals could regain a core component of their offense at the most opportune time.
Arizona plans to activate running back Chris Johnson if it advances to Super Bowl 50, according to FOX Sports' Jay Glazer.
Johnson was placed on injured reserve with designation to return on Dec. 1, and forced to miss at least eight weeks as a result. The three-time Pro Bowler will only become eligible for the Super Bowl.
Prior to suffering a fractured tibia, Johnson rushed for 814 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games.
David Johnson took over as the team's lead back in the veteran's absence.
