Tom Coughlin's farewell speech to the New York Giants on Tuesday included a very special message for Eli Manning.
"He can handle it all. He's done it before, he'll handle it again," Coughlin said. "He's extremely bright, he's extremely competitive. He's what you want - a son to be made out of, because ... I mean, he thinks he's the reason. He's not the reason that I'm (leaving).
"Eli, it's not you. It's us. We win, we lose together."
Manning, who's spent his entire 12-year career playing under Coughlin in New York, fought back tears as he listened to the coach assure him he wasn't to blame.
