Notre Dame's Will Fuller changes mind, heads for NFL draft

Derik Hamilton / USA TODAY Sports

Notre Dame wide receiver Will Fuller will declare for the 2016 NFL Draft, he announced Sunday via Twitter.

Fuller previously stated his intentions to return to the Fighting Irish for his senior season, but has evidently had a change of heart.

After back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and an excellent showing in the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State, Fuller's draft stock may be at its peak. The junior torched the Buckeyes for 113 yards and a score on six catches Friday. This season, he hauled in 62 passes for 1,258 yards and 14 touchdowns while averaging 20.3 yards per catch.

The Philadelphia native wraps up his illustrious three-year Irish career with 144 receptions for 2,512 yards and 30 touchdowns.

He's the second offensive playmaker Notre Dame has lost in as many days, as running back C.J. Prosise declared for the draft Saturday.
