San Diego Chargers cornerback Brandon Flowers will not return after being carted from the field in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos due to a knee injury.

Flowers was hurt as he came in to defend a pass, with tight end Owen Daniels falling into his left leg as he attempted to make the catch.

The 29-year-old was surrounded by medical staff on the field, with the cart coming on several minutes later to take him off the field.

Flowers is the second Chargers player to be carted off the field in the first quarter of the game, with wide receiver Dontrelle Inman also needing the cart after suffering an injury.
