Colts' Pagano: 'Ludicrous' to suggest Hasselbeck should start over Luck

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Matt Hasselbeck has rolled back the years and kept his team in contention for the playoffs in place of Andrew Luck.

Hasselbeck, who at age 40 is the NFL's oldest quarterback, has gone undefeated in his four starts, bringing poise and confidence to an offense that was struggling with Luck under center.

However, head coach Chuck Pagano is adamant Luck will be the team's starter when he returns to full health.

"I'm not even going to go there," Pagano said Monday, according to Stephen Holder of the Indy Star. "That's ludicrous."

Added Pagano, "You have to stay off Twitter. Get your blinders and your earmuffs on. ... Andrew is our starting quarterback. When he's 100 percent healthy, and our doctors and our trainers say he's ready to roll, then he's going to be under center."

Luck's struggles earlier this season are worrisome, but there is no denying the Colts' offense has a higher ceiling with him than with Hasselbeck.

In his last outing before his injury, Luck showed flashes of his former self in an impressive victory over the Denver Broncos.
