Peyton Manning not a fan of rookie Trevor Siemian's 'borderline mullet' haircut

Peyton Manning spared Trevor Siemian the embarrassment of having his head shaved by the Denver Broncos' "senior committee," but the rookie quarterback isn't in the clear just yet.

"Ty (Sambrailo) had long hair when he got here and they cut our left tackles' hair. But, for three years in a row now I have spared the QBs," Manning told KOA's Dave Logan, via the team's official website. "I spared Brock (Osweiler), I spared (Zac) Dysert and I spared Trevor. But I told Trevor, 'Just because I spared you from getting your head shaved doesn’t mean … you still need a haircut.' He's got a bad haircut. It's borderline mullet at this point.

"So I said, 'Don't take advantage of my generosity … get a haircut. Represent the QBs. Look sharp.' He hasn't done it yet."

Another issue Manning has with Siemian is that he still uses his college email address from Northwestern.

"I do not feel secure on that," Manning said. "Some student could be reading all of our emails at Northwestern. I told him, 'Get an AOL, get a Gmail … do something.' I do not want to send an email to Northwestern dot org or whatever.

"When you get to pro ball, you can’t wear your bowl gear from the Peach Bowl. You can’t wear your combine sweatshirt, (which reads) 'QB 10,' and you cannot have your college email. You stick to those three things and everything else is cream cheese."

Haircut and email address aside, Siemian has put together a solid training camp and preseason, completing 12-of-16 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in two appearances.

That may force the Broncos to keep three quarterbacks on the roster, as Siemian would have to clear waivers before he could be signed to the practice squad, and could be claimed by another team in the process.

Siemian is expected to play in the second half of Thursday's preseason finale against the Arizona Cardinals, with Osweiler getting the start.
