New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis will play Thursday against the Miami Dolphins after overcoming an abdomen injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Lewis was previously considered a game-time decision after missing Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
In five games, Lewis rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns on 40 carries. He was rewarded with a two-year contract extension on Oct. 8, in large part due to his excellent start to the year.
The Patriots were held to 16 rushing yards in their victory over the Jets, and Lewis' return will be a welcome presence.
