Report: Jets to sign Matt Flynn to 1-year deal
Derick E. Hingle / USA Today
The New York Jets are set to sign free-agent quarterback Matt Flynn to a one-year contract, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Jets are in need of depth at the position with Geno Smith sidelined six-to-10 weeks with a broken jaw. Ryan Fitzpatrick is the starter as of now.
Flynn has bounced around with the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots since leaving the Green Bay Packers in 2011 - the year of his spectacular six-touchdown performance in Week 17 against the Detroit Lions.
