No, Favre isn't attempting yet another comeback. That ship has finally sailed (or has it?).
Instead, he's wearing his familiar No. 4 Green Bay Packers jersey on the cover of Sports Illustrated in advance of having his number officially retired by the team this fall.
"It was so big on me," Favre said of putting the jersey on again. "It felt like a nightgown. That’s not my world anymore."
Though Favre's departure from Green Bay was about as messy as it could have been, time heals all wounds. The NFL's all-time leading passer will surely receive a reception befitting a player of his legendary status when he returns to Lambeau on Thanksgiving night.
