NFC South Notebook: Theft investigated at Blank's home; Panthers sign cancer patient

Carolina Panthers
Norman goes skydiving. Panthers cornerback Josh Norman put together a breakout 2014 campaign, and then took on a new challenge during the offseason when he went skydiving at 10,000 feet, playing to his chaos-seeking side.
Young cancer patient signs 1-day contract. Braylon Beam, a six-year-old boy battling cancer, signed a one-day contract to coach the Panthers. Beam was optimistic about his squad's chances, stating they'd win the Super Bowl this season.
Funchess quickly adapting to offense. Devin Funchess was selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft to bolster the weak Panthers' receiving corps. Funchess is already adapting to the team's offensive scheme, and told Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston he'd lose two games guaranteed each season.
New Orleans Saints
Breaux performing well in transition from CFL. New Orleans took a calculated risk in signing cornerback Delvin Breaux from the CFL. Though it's early, the Saints' investment appears to be working out with Breaux recording a one-handed interception during OTAs.
Benson's wife testifies in husband's competency trial. Gayle Benson, the wife of Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson, testified in her husband's competency trial. The Bensons are involved in a bitter feud against Tom's daughter and grandchildren over his decision to make his wife the heir to his two clubs upon his death. Previously, Benson's granddaughter Rita was expected to take over, but he changed his will in January.
Greer to become broadcaster. Former Saints defensive back Jabari Greer will enter the broadcast booth this season, working for one of the league's television partners in the United Kingdom. Greer's on-air date hasn't been announced.
Atlanta Falcons
Police investigate theft at Blank's home. Atlanta police are investigating a theft at owner Arthur Blank's home. Three iPads were stolen, and two Rolex watches were believed to be missing as well but were later accounted for.
Beasley draws comparison to Miller. Vic Beasley is making quite an impression during OTAs. Falcons defensive coordinator Richard Smith compared Beasley to Denver Broncos' star outside linebacker Von Miller, with personnel raving about his closing speed.
Showtime purchases Gonzalez documentary. Showtime bought a documentary about former Falcons star tight end Tony Gonzalez titled "Play it Forward." Gonzalez spent the final five seasons of his illustrious career with the Falcons after 12 years with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Winston gets haircut for pediatric cancer research. Jameis Winston and 12 teammates shaved their heads and raised $30,500 for the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, with star defensive tackle Gerald McCoy pledging $10,000.
Dotson raise withdrawn due to holdout. Demar Dotson is holding out of OTAs due to his new contract demands. The Buccaneers rescinded their offer to Dotson of a multi-year raise. The situation could get worse as the offensive lineman is slated to face fines if he misses next week's mandatory minicamp.
Winston not selected during MLB Draft. Winston wasn't selected during the 2015 MLB Draft though he had a promising career as a closer at Florida State. The Buccaneers' quarterback's contract stipulates he can't play baseball and other sports.
