The Cincinnati Bengals signed quarterback Josh Johnson after hosting him for a free-agent visit Thursday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Johnson will likely slot in third on the Bengals' depth chart, as the team has Andy Dalton entrenched as starter and a fifth-round pick invested in AJ McCarron.
Johnson is familiar to the Bengals, having spent the 2013 season with the team before departing for the San Francisco 49ers.
