The Dallas Cowboys are negotiating with linebacker Rolando McClain on a new contract, according to Ed Werder of ESPN.
McClain, who is an unrestricted free agent, is facing discipline for violating the league's substance abuse policy. It does not appear he is negotiating with any team other than the Cowboys, Werder reports.
After missing an entire season, McClain was outstanding for the Cowboys in 2014 and will likely stay with the team at a discounted price because of his off-field issues.
He tallied 81 tackles, one sack, one forced-fumble and two interceptions last season.
