Analysis:

While the surgery wasn't previously reported, it doesn't exactly come as a surprise. Mingo was bothered by his shoulder throughout the 2014 season, with the issue contributing to the disappointment of the former No. 6 overall draft pick's sophomore campaign. To be fair, Mingo created far more disruption than his measly total of two sacks would seem to indicate, and there's serious breakout potential for year three. With Jabaal Sheard recently signed by New England, Mingo should assume a three-down role.
