The Baltimore Ravens have traded defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to the Detroit Lions.
Baltimore will send Ngata and a seventh-round pick to Detroit, in exchange for fourth- and fifth-round picks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Ngata has spent the entirety of his nine-year career with the Ravens and will replace Ndamukong Suh in the Lions' defensive scheme. Suh is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins.
In 12 games last season, Ngata recorded 31 tackles, two forced fumbles and two sacks. Ngata was suspended four games for violating the league's policy for performance-enhancing substances.
Long considered one of the league's best defensive tackles, Ngata will be counted on to lead the Lions' excellent run defense in 2015. It has yet to be confirmed whether fellow defensive tackle Nick Fairley will return to the club next season.
Ngata passed his physical on Wednesday and the trade is now official.
