The Dallas Cowboys and right tackle Doug Free have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension, ESPN's Todd Archer reports.

The deal is reportedly worth $15 million, with $6 million guaranteed.

Free, 31, was set to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday.

The seven-year veteran played a key role in the Cowboys' NFL-best offensive line last season, but missed time down the stretch (including the Cowboys' two playoff games) with a foot injury.

With Free re-signing, backup Jermey Parnell, who started seven games in place of Free last season, is essentially guaranteed to hit free agency.
