St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher announced Friday that Chris Weinke has been hired as the team's quarterbacks coach.
Weinke replaces Frank Cignetti, who was promoted to offensive coordinator after Brian Schottenheimer accepted a position at Georgia. He previously served as director of the IMG Madden Football Academy.
As a player, Weinke led Florida State to its first undefeated season and second national championship in 1999 and went on to set school records for career passing yards and career touchdown passes. His NFL career included stints with the Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers.
