1999 - Elway goes out with a bang

Broncos quarterback John Elway throws for 336 yards and a touchdown to lead Denver to a 34-19 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII.

Elway also runs for another score in what would be his last game as a Bronco.

"I don't even want to talk about retirement until later on," he says afterwards. "I'm just thrilled to death to have won and to be a part of this team. To do it two years in a row is unbelievable. ... I'm going to enjoy this win for a while. This is what I came back for."

With the win, the Broncos become the first AFC team since the Pittsburgh Steelers (Super Bowls XIII and XIV) to repeat as champions.

1993 - Bills fall to Cowboys in Super Bowl XXVII

The Buffalo Bills come out on the losing end of a Super Bowl for the third consecutive year, this time falling to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 52-17.

Bills backup quarterback Frank Reich replaces an injured Jim Kelly in the second quarter, completing 18-of-31 passes for 194 yards with one touchdown and a pair of interceptions.

Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman finishes the game 22-of-30 for 273 yards and four touchdowns to earn MVP honors.

1988 - Redskins defeat Broncos in Super Bowl XXII

The Washington Redskins rally from a 10-0 first-quarter deficit to defeat the Denver Broncos 42-10 in Super Bowl XXII.

Redskins quarterback Doug Williams completes 18-of-29 passes for 340 yards and four second-quarter touchdowns.

"We scored 35 points in 18 plays – that's execution at its very best," Williams later recalls. "Offensively, we were in a zone. It didn't matter who we were playing, they weren't going to stop us."
