The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed free-agent running back Ben Tate, the team announced Tuesday.
With Le'Veon Bell working through a knee injury, and his status unclear for Saturday's wild card game against the Baltimore Ravens, Tate gives the Steelers another experienced ball carrier in the backfield.
The five-year veteran spent time with both the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings during the regular season, tallying 371 yards and four touchdowns on 119 attempts.
