49ers activate Alex Boone, release Kassim Osgood

The San Francisco 49ers have activated offensive lineman Alex Boone, cutting special teams stalwart Kassim Osgood to make space.

Boone had been holding out for the vast majority of training camp, but signed a two-year, $6-million deal Monday.
The 27-year-old guard has started every game for the 49ers the past two seasons, and is an integral part of the running game.
It has been a rough week for Osgood, however, as he was released for the second time in a week. He was cut by the 49ers last Saturday, before re-signing with the team Monday.
