Terrell Owens visits Cowboys camp
The Dallas Cowboys welcomed former receiver Terrell Owens to practice on Thursday afternoon. The famously outspoken Owens spent some time taking in the action and, as always, took a few moments to talk to the media.
Owens spent three seasons with the Cowboys, and remembered his relationship with the organization as a positive one. "Getting the opportunity Jerry gave me coming over from Philly. I played three years here and had some great times, made the most of it I feel like.’’
Along with rehashing memories, Owens also focused on the present. He heaped praise on current Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant.
“Dez has to obviously realize the opportunity he has in front of him and really make the most of the opportunities, because you never know when your last play or your last game is going to be," Owens said. "I think he’s starting to get it and I think he has the right people in his corner to really guide him and pave the way for him.’’
Never one to miss an opportunity to self-promote, Owens scoffed at the question of whether or not he could still get it done on the field.
"Absolutely,’’ he said. “What kind of question is that? I worked out this morning. Looking good.’’
At 40 years old, it would be a stretch to see him back on the field at the highest level. But that isn't stopping Owens from having a little faith.
“I haven’t ruled it out. I haven’t retired. I’ve kept myself in good enough shape to go in and help somebody if need be.’’
