Marshall is the leading candidate to replace Danny Trevathan (fractured knee) as the Broncos' starting weakside linebacker, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

With Trevathan expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with his injury, Marshall, a practice squad body for the Broncos most of last season, should have plenty of opportunities to flash his speed and athleticism in camp. Those skills should aid him in both coverage and on special teams, but he'll have weak odds of replicating the eight tackles per game Trevathan supplied in 2013.
