Team confirms Brett Favre's induction into Packers Hall of Fame and jersey retirement
The Green Bay Packers confirmed Monday that legendary quarterback Brett Favre will have his No. 4 jersey retired during his induction into the Packers Hall of Fame in the summer of 2015.
The announcement was made at the site of the future Packers Hall of Fame where the ceremony will take place and was delivered by Perry Kidder (president of Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Inc.), Mark Murphy (Packers president and CEO) and former Packers president Bob Harlan.
“In 1992, Ron Wolf, Mike Holmgren and Brett Favre came to Green Bay, and Packer pride was restored,” Harlan said.
Favre, who could not attend the press conference but spoke via telephone, was at a loss for words following Harlan's appreciative speech.

Favre and the Packers suffered somewhat of a messy break-up after he decided to retire and was denied a chance to come back when he changed his mind. He went on to play for the New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings, a Packers division rival, and was greeted by a chorus of boos upon his return to Green Bay in 2009.
Favre says he's not concerned about a negative reaction: "I'm not concerned about it one bit. In fact, I look forward to it."

Favre: "I played my heart out. And I'm proud of that. I am a Packer, I'll always be a Packer. ...Has been a roller-coaster of emotions."

The ceremony will take place on July 18, 2015.
