Bills fans urging Buffalo-area businesses to boycott Jon Bon Jovi's music

A group of Buffalo Bills fans don't share Jerry Jones' belief that Jon Bon Jovi is qualified to become an NFL owner, and are urging local businesses not to play the rock star's music.

Per the Buffalo News, the strategy was initiated by Bills fan group 12th Man Thunder in an effort to keep the team in western New York. Bon Jovi has been linked to Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment, a Toronto-based company that counts the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and NBA's Toronto Raptors among its properties.

"Someone's coming here and trying to take our team away," 12th Man Thunder co-founder Charles Pellien said. 

The group, which was formed in 2012, is offering free "Bon Jovi Free Zone" signs to local bars, restaurants, and other businesses that pledge to boycott his music. They are also facilitating an online petition to keep the Bills in Buffalo.

On Wednesday, the Bills announced that they have assembled a transaction team and plan to begin contacting prospective buyers within the next 30 days.
