Cardinals' John Brown 'blowing everyone away' at rookie minicamp

The Arizona Cardinals' rookie minicamp is barely underway, but third-round draft pick John Brown has already exceeded team expectations.

"John Brown is blowing everyone away," a team source told Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. "Explosive and sudden. Great hands and a better route runner than we even thought."

Brown, a 5-foot-11 wide receiver out of Pittsburg State, has mastered the art of making a good first impression. The first time he ever touched the ball for the Gorillas, he returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown.

He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.34 seconds - the third-fastest time of any player at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"I'm just a person who plays fast," Brown said. "When I got in the East-West Shrine Game I showed them that I can play with speed. I think it will be faster here, but I think I will adjust real quick."

Brown signed a four-year contract with the Cardinals on Thursday. According to overthecap.com, the deal is worth $2.8 million and includes a $543,000 signing bonus.
