Brooks Reed set for position change with Texans to accommodate Clowney

As the Houston Texans plan to play first-overall selection Jadeveon Clowney opposite Pro Bowl linebacker J.J. Watt this upcoming season, outside linebacker Brooks Reed is ready for a move to the inside.

"Obviously, we drafted some talent and the coaches will adapt to switching the players as need be," Reed told the team's official website. "From the beginning, I've been preparing to play inside backer if I had to so I'm ready if I do, I'll play outside if they need me to play outside."

Reed went on to express his confidence in being able to make the transition to an inside linebacker.

"...it’s something that I can do and that I’ve done in the past minimally but it’s something that I’m up for if that happens,” he said at the Texans annual charity golf tournament.

Reed amassed three sacks and 43 tackles in 16 games for the Texans in 2013.
